Closing Out May
May has been pretty blustery and confusing weather-wise, but we did slip into the low 80s the other day. Of course, it was 50 the next day, but we're holding out hope for summer. I have planted a tinsy tiny garden on our back porch in some pots, and some of the strawberries are actually turn red! My big hope for the summer is zucchini. I also have some herbs and flowers.
There have been more serious rumblings this week about a full-time job for Seth, so we continue to pray for God to open the right doors for us, and we trust that he will in his timing. Last week I was rejected (again) by another insurance company, so the prospect of health insurance in conjunction with a permanent job is very exciting. Prayers still appreciated!
Last night our friends Tiffanie and Blake had a long layover at the O'Hare airport as they were flying through, so a group of us met them for about two hours to eat dinner and talk and catch up. It was great, although too short, and we wish they lived closer.
My cousin Jon is getting married this weekend (congrats, Jon and Karly!) in Michigan, and we are looking forward to a fun weekend with lots of family. I have a lot of cousins on my mom's side of the family (20+), and there have been a lot of weddings lately which means a lot of mini-family reunions. That means big fun for us, and we are so excited that we live close enough to drive to a wedding. Ahh the joys of living in the midwest: accessibility by automobile. I guess that's less special these days with gas being so expensive, but, still.
Still not sure when we'll be back in Seattle but hopefully soon. We miss our friends and family there! Love you guys!
i LOVE weddings! have a great time this weekend.
