Next Step Forward

Thanks to all of you who've wished us well and prayed for us. We've been feeling it. The good news this week is that the inspection is done, the buyer didn't ask for too much more off the price, and we finally have an official "sold" sign out front! That is very exciting. Also exciting: Seth gave his two-week notice at work today. This is a day he's been looking forward to for, ohhh, a year or more? We are praying for a good next job that will provide more training, challenges, and opportunities to learn & grow on the job. Anyway, he said that giving notice to his manager (and sharing the news with his team) was a positive thing. It's amazing how many people hear our news and say, "Oh, Chicago is such a great city!" I've been up to my ears in travel websites and books, trying to do some last minute planning for our Italy trip. I've often thought that anticipation is one of the best parts of an event--you can enjoy looking forward to a trip and then you get to enjoy the actual trip. Due to the craziness of our timeline, I really haven't had a chance to think about (much less look forward to) spending some time in Tuscany and northern Italy. But now I'm getting excited. It's much more fun to read about hill towns and pesto and lagoons than it is to organize belongings, pack things in boxes, and confront my true pack-rat-ish nature. But, with only 2.5 weeks left until we leave for Italy (and one week after that until we're outta here), I think my procrastination is about to catch up with me. Yikes!
